Superintendent’s Message
As we begin the 2026–2027 school year, we are excited to welcome our Panama families back and to set a clear focus for the year ahead. Our theme this year is “Back to the Basics.” This means focusing on the foundational skills and habits that matter most for student success: strong communication, consistent effort, and a belief that all students can achieve at high levels.
One of our key goals is to strengthen students’ written and digital communication skills across all grade levels. These skills are essential not only for academic success, but also for preparing our students to be competitive and confident in life beyond school. Whether students are writing, presenting, or collaborating online, we are committed to helping them communicate clearly, effectively, and professionally.
Equally important is our shared commitment to teaching students that they can do hard things. Learning is not always easy, and we want our students to understand that struggle is a natural and valuable part of the process. Through constructive struggle, students build resilience, confidence, and problem-solving skills. Our staff will continue to support and encourage students as they take on challenges, persevere, and grow.
As a school community, we also recognize that we are navigating the final stages of the merger feasibility study. With that process comes uncertainty, and it is natural for that uncertainty to feel stressful at times. However, we remain grounded in what we can control: showing up each day, supporting one another, and keeping our focus on our students.
No matter what the future holds, our constant will always be our commitment to our students. By focusing on strong instruction, meaningful relationships, and a positive school culture, we will continue to ensure that every student is supported and prepared for success.
We are looking forward to a great year ahead and appreciate your continued partnership in making Panama a strong and supportive place for all students.
